This easy stovetop oatmeal with fruit is a simple and healthy breakfast! The oatmeal is made up of 4 ingredients and topped with your choice of fruits, nuts, nut butter & hemp seeds. This oatmeal serves 1, or can easily be doubled to have leftovers for the next day.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup large flake oats
- 1 cup non-dairy milk (I used soy milk)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sweetener (I used maple syrup)
Toppings
- Fruit (I used strawberries, blueberries & banana)
- Nuts (I used walnuts)
- Nut butter (I used almonds)
- Hemp seeds
Equipment
- Small pot
Instructions
- To a small pot, add non-dairy milk, large flake oats, cinnamon and sweetener. Put on medium heat, stirring frequently, until the liquid is absorbed and the perfect creamy texture is achieved. If needed, add a splash more milk to make it more creamy.
- Taste and add more sweetener if you like a sweeter oatmeal.
- Serve with fruit such as berries and banana, nuts (I used walnuts), nut or seed butter, and hemp seeds. Enjoy!
Notes
*This easy stovetop oatmeal can also be made nut-free by substituting seeds & seed butter for the nuts and nut butter (or omitting altogether).
*For a sugar-free version, omit the sweetener or use a natural sweetener such as blended dates.
