This homemade beet juice is made up of 5 ingredients (beet, apple, pear, orange and ginger) and absolutely delicious! It can be done without a juicer – all you’ll need is a blender and a nut milk bag (or old t-shirt). I like making a big batch on the weekend and enjoying throughout the week with my breakfast.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Servings: 3-4 cups
Ingredients
- 1 apple
- 1 pear
- 2 oranges
- 1 beet
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 2 cups of water
Equipment
- Blender
- Nut milk bag or old t-shirt
- Mixing bowl
Instructions
- Cut the apple and pear into quarters, removing the cores and then chopping each quarter into 2-3 pieces.
- Peel the oranges and cut them into quarters, then each quarter in half.
- Peel the piece of ginger, and remove the skin from the beet before cutting into quarters and again in halves.
- Add the apple, pear, oranges, ginger and beet to a blender with water, and blend for 30 seconds to a minute.
- Place an old t-shirt or nut milk bag in a mixing bowl, then pour in the juice from the blender.
- Squeeze all of the liquid out (being careful the pulp doesn’t squeeze out too!).
- Store the juice in bottles or in jars, then the pulp can either be composted or frozen in an ice cube tray for smoothies!
Notes
*I like using an extra ripe pear for this recipe (makes the juice a bit sweeter!).
*If using a smaller blender such as a bullet blender, separate into two batches.
